Do You Qualify?
About a minute is all it takes to find out. There are four questions.
You Likely Qualify!
So far your answers fit the basic lemon law test. An attorney has to confirm it from the repair orders, and we handle cases on a contingency basis, which means no attorney’s fees unless we recover for you.
You May Not Qualify Under Standard Lemon Law
Your answers do not fit the standard lemon law test, but other consumer protection laws might still apply. Contact us anyway.

Arlington Lemon Law Basics
In Arlington, as anywhere else in Texas, a lemon law claim is brought under Tex. Occ. Code §2301.601 to §2301.613. The statute covers new motor vehicles purchased or leased in Texas for personal, family, or household use (also covers towable recreational vehicles), but being covered is only the start. The car also has to reach one of the repair limits in the box above, with the defect still unrepaired and the deadline not yet passed. If it does, you may have a claim. Our Texas Lemon Law Attorneys page goes through the statute text, the filing deadlines and used cars in more detail.
How an Arlington Lemon Law Claim Works
This is what happens after you call us from Arlington.
Document Your Repairs
Keep every repair order from your Arlington dealership, even the short ones. TX lemon law needs written proof of each repair attempt, and those papers are the proof.
Free Case Evaluation
We read your repair history against the Texas statute and tell you whether the car qualifies. The review costs nothing, and there are no attorney's fees unless we recover for you.
We File the Claim
We write and send the paperwork, including any written notice to the manufacturer that TX law requires. We deal with the manufacturer for you.
You Get Compensated
The case ends with a refund, a replacement vehicle or a cash settlement. There are no attorney's fees unless we recover for you.

Is Your Arlington Car a Lemon? Texas's 3-Step Test
Does the Defect Substantially Impair Use, Value, or Safety?
Under Texas law, the defect has to substantially impair the vehicle's use, value, or safety. These defects came up in one of Easy Lemon's own Texas cases:
- ⚠️2024 Cadillac Lyriq: Recurring blank display/IPC screen
- ⚠️2024 Cadillac Lyriq: Autonomous emergency braking in rain
- ⚠️2024 Cadillac Lyriq: A/C compressor bracket twisted
- ⚠️2024 Cadillac Lyriq: ABS warning and battery discharge
Have You Met the Repair Attempt Threshold?
In Texas the test is 4 repair attempts for the same defect (or 2 for serious safety defects), or 30 cumulative days out of service, as long as the claim is brought within the deadline in step 3. For a defect that could cause serious bodily injury or death, 2 repair attempts are enough. Count the visits on your repair orders to see where you stand.
Did It Happen Within the Rights Period?
In Texas the deadline is 6 months after the earliest of the express warranty expiration or 24 months/24,000 miles from original delivery. We check it against the delivery date on your contract and the dates on your repair orders.
If you are not sure about your dates, call us. The consultation is free. 📞 (855) 435-3666
If you are past the deadline, call us anyway. We may still be able to help.
Court and Venue in Arlington
Arlington is in Tarrant County. A Texas lemon law claim starts as a complaint to the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV), not as a lawsuit. For a warranty suit filed in court, district courts are the general trial courts in Texas, and the Texas Office of Court Administration lists 24 numbered district courts for Tarrant County. County courts at law can share that civil jurisdiction. Which court hears a particular case still depends on its facts, the warranty issues involved and the law it is brought under.
The Texas lemon law is Tex. Occ. Code §2301.601 to §2301.613. TxDMV cannot order a refund or replacement unless the manufacturer received written notice of the defect and a chance to cure it (Tex. Occ. Code §2301.606(c)). The complaint must be filed with TxDMV, which holds a hearing.
The repair test in the statute is 4 repair attempts for the same defect (or 2 for serious safety defects), or 30 cumulative days with the vehicle out of service. The statutory remedy is a replacement vehicle or full refund (minus reasonable use offset).

Texas Lemon Law: The Rules That Decide an Arlington Claim
Some Texas rules sit outside the repair test, the arbitration rule and the deadline, which you can find under Court and Venue above. Those other rules are here.
Notable provisions of Texas Lemon Law
Texas uses a state-administered complaint process through TxDMV (not traditional arbitration). Only 2 repair attempts needed for serious safety hazards. Texas also covers towable recreational vehicles (RVs). The TxDMV filing fee is $35, and the other side pays it back if the consumer wins.

What The Manufacturer Owes You
Texas's statute lists replacement vehicle or full refund (minus reasonable use offset). In practice, a qualifying Arlington case under TX law usually ends in one of three ways, and the cards below explain each.
Refund
You return the car. The price comes back to you, and so do the taxes, the registration fees and the finance charges, after a reasonable use offset is taken off.
Replacement Vehicle
You trade the defective car for a comparable new one, and the manufacturer pays what the swap costs.
Cash Settlement
The car stays with you, and the manufacturer pays for the drop in value the defect caused. The statute does not provide for this. It comes out of negotiation.
