3

We File the Claim

We write and send the paperwork, including any written notice to the manufacturer that PA law requires. We deal with the manufacturer for you.

4

You Get Compensated

The case ends with a refund, a replacement vehicle or a cash settlement. There are no attorney's fees unless we recover for you.

Is Your Lancaster Car a Lemon? Pennsylvania's 3-Step Test

1

Does the Defect Substantially Impair Use, Value, or Safety?

Under Pennsylvania law, the defect has to substantially impair the vehicle's use, value, or safety.

2

Have You Met the Repair Attempt Threshold?

In Pennsylvania the test is 3 repair attempts for the same defect, or 30 cumulative calendar days out of service, as long as the claim is brought within the deadline in step 3. Count the visits on your repair orders to see where you stand.

3

Did It Happen Within the Rights Period?

In Pennsylvania the deadline is the first 12 months, 12,000 miles, or the express warranty period (whichever is earliest). We check it against the delivery date on your contract and the dates on your repair orders.

If you are not sure about your dates, call us. The consultation is free. 📞 (855) 435-3666

If you are past the deadline, call us anyway. We may still be able to help.

Lancaster County

Court and Venue in Lancaster

Lancaster is in Lancaster County. Lancaster County's general civil trial court is the Court of Common Pleas of Lancaster County, part of the Second Judicial District. Which court hears a particular case still depends on its facts, the warranty issues involved and the law it is brought under.

The Pennsylvania lemon law is 73 Pa. Stat. §1951 to §1960. If the manufacturer has a dispute program that follows federal FTC rules, the consumer must use it first, but its decision does not bind the consumer.

The repair test in the statute is 3 repair attempts for the same defect, or 30 cumulative calendar days with the vehicle out of service. The statutory remedy is a replacement vehicle, full refund, or cash settlement. Under the statute, a consumer who prevails can recover reasonable attorney fees from the manufacturer.

Open recalls on your vehicle can be checked against NHTSA records at easylemon.com/recalls. A recall alone is not a lemon law claim.

Your Rights Under PA Law

What The Manufacturer Owes You

By statute, the Pennsylvania remedy is replacement vehicle, full refund, or cash settlement. When a Lancaster car qualifies under PA law, the case usually ends in one of three ways.

$

Refund

The manufacturer buys the car back. It repays the price along with the taxes, registration fees and finance charges.

Replacement Vehicle

Instead of money you get a comparable new car, and the swap costs you nothing.

$

Cash Settlement

You keep the car, and the manufacturer pays for the value the defect took off it.

Frequently Asked Questions

The answers below are based on Pennsylvania law and on the paperwork Lancaster drivers usually send us.

ELIGIBILITY
It may. Under 73 Pa. Stat. §1951 to §1960, your Lancaster car can qualify if a defect covered by the warranty is still there after 3 repair attempts for the same defect, or 30 cumulative calendar days out of service. The statute covers new motor vehicles purchased, leased, or registered in Pennsylvania for personal, family, or household purposes.
73 Pa. Stat. §1951 to §1960 covers new motor vehicles purchased, leased, or registered in Pennsylvania for personal, family, or household purposes. If you bought used, send the paperwork anyway, including any written warranty that came with the car.
We handle any warranty defect that substantially impairs the car's use, value or safety and that the dealer could not fix. The defects we see most often are engine stalling and misfires, transmission shudder or failure, electrical faults, brake and steering problems, and driver-assist systems that brake or drift on their own. Pennsylvania is consumer-friendly, with only 3 repair attempts required.
REMEDIES
In Pennsylvania, the manufacturer pays the consumer's attorney's fees when the consumer wins. We work on contingency, so you pay nothing upfront and there is no attorney's fee unless we recover for you. When a manufacturer settles or loses, we ask it to pay our fee on top of your recovery. The federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. §2310(d)) adds a second fee-shifting route when a written warranty is breached. Our fee agreement is one page.
ATTORNEY & TRUST
Nothing upfront, and no attorney's fee unless we recover for you. In Pennsylvania, the manufacturer pays the consumer's attorney's fees when the consumer wins. In most successful Pennsylvania claims, the manufacturer pays our fee. Repair orders are free from the dealer. We pay the filing costs while the case is open. To start, send us the repair orders for a free case review.
You will have one assigned attorney and a direct line. You get a copy of every letter we send and a note whenever the manufacturer responds. We first check your repair history against 73 Pa. Stat. §1951 to §1960. Then written notice goes to the manufacturer, and we demand the statutory remedy, replacement vehicle, full refund, or cash settlement. Most cases settle at that stage. If a case does not settle, we take the next formal step that Pennsylvania law requires.

“Wasn't sure I had a case because my problem seemed small. But it was constant. Same thing over and over. The service manager started avoiding me. Called Easy Lemon just to see. They said send your records. I did. Next thing I know, the manufacturer is offering a settlement. Not small at all. Glad I didn't talk myself out of calling.”
