Do You Qualify?
Four questions will help you find out in about a minute.
You Likely Qualify!
Your answers meet the basic lemon law test. Before anyone can confirm that your car qualifies, an attorney has to see the repair orders. We work on a contingency basis, and there are no attorney’s fees unless we recover for you.
You May Not Qualify Under Standard Lemon Law
The standard lemon law test does not seem to fit. Other consumer protection laws may still help with a car like yours. Contact us anyway.

Bethlehem Lemon Law Basics
The law that applies in Bethlehem is Pennsylvania's lemon law, 73 Pa. Stat. §1951 to §1960, and it covers new motor vehicles purchased, leased, or registered in Pennsylvania for personal, family, or household purposes. You may have a claim if your repair orders reach one of the repair limits in the box above while the defect is still there and you are inside the deadline. The statute text, the filing deadlines and the rules on used cars are on our Pennsylvania Lemon Law Attorneys page.

We File the Claim
We write and send the paperwork, including any written notice to the manufacturer that PA law requires. We deal with the manufacturer for you.
You Get Compensated

Does the Defect Substantially Impair Use, Value, or Safety?
Under Pennsylvania law, the defect has to substantially impair the vehicle's use, value, or safety.
Have You Met the Repair Attempt Threshold?
In Pennsylvania the test is 3 repair attempts for the same defect, or 30 cumulative calendar days out of service, as long as the claim is brought within the deadline in step 3. Count the visits on your repair orders to see where you stand.
Did It Happen Within the Rights Period?
In Pennsylvania the deadline is the first 12 months, 12,000 miles, or the express warranty period (whichever is earliest). We check it against the delivery date on your contract and the dates on your repair orders.

Court and Venue in Bethlehem
Parts of Bethlehem lie in Lehigh County and Northampton County, per the 2020 Census. Their general civil trial courts are the Court of Common Pleas of Lehigh County (Thirty-First Judicial District) and the Court of Common Pleas of Northampton County (Third Judicial District). Which court hears a particular case still depends on its facts, the warranty issues involved and the law it is brought under.
The Pennsylvania lemon law is 73 Pa. Stat. §1951 to §1960. If the manufacturer has a dispute program that follows federal FTC rules, the consumer must use it first, but its decision does not bind the consumer.
The repair test in the statute is 3 repair attempts for the same defect, or 30 cumulative calendar days with the vehicle out of service. The statutory remedy is a replacement vehicle, full refund, or cash settlement. Under the statute, a consumer who prevails can recover reasonable attorney fees from the manufacturer.
Open recalls on your vehicle can be checked against NHTSA records at easylemon.com/recalls. A recall alone is not a lemon law claim.

What The Manufacturer Owes You
The Pennsylvania statute provides for replacement vehicle, full refund, or cash settlement, and a qualifying PA case from Bethlehem usually ends in one of these three ways.
Refund
You hand back the car. In return the manufacturer repays the price, the taxes, the registration fees and the finance charges.
Replacement Vehicle
You leave with a comparable new car. The manufacturer pays for the swap.
Cash Settlement
You keep the car, and the manufacturer pays you for the value the defect took off it.
