Coral Springs Lemon Law

Coral Springs Lemon Law Basics

In Coral Springs, as anywhere else in Florida, a lemon law claim is brought under Fla. Stat. §681.10 to §681.118. The statute covers new or demonstrator motor vehicles purchased or leased in Florida, primarily for personal, family, or household use, but being covered is only the start. The car also has to reach one of the repair limits in the box above, with the defect still unrepaired and the deadline not yet passed. If it does, you may have a claim. Our Florida Lemon Law Attorneys page goes through the statute text, the filing deadlines and used cars in more detail.

Step by Step

How a Coral Springs Lemon Law Claim Works

This is what happens after you call us from Coral Springs.

1

Document Your Repairs

Keep every repair order from your Coral Springs dealership, even the short ones. FL lemon law needs written proof of each repair attempt, and those papers are the proof.

2

Free Case Evaluation

We read your repair history against the Florida statute and tell you whether the car qualifies. The review costs nothing, and there are no attorney's fees unless we recover for you.

3

We File the Claim

We write and send the paperwork, including any written notice to the manufacturer that FL law requires. We deal with the manufacturer for you.

4

You Get Compensated

The case ends with a refund, a replacement vehicle or a cash settlement. There are no attorney's fees unless we recover for you.

Is Your Coral Springs Car a Lemon? Florida's 3-Step Test

1

Does the Defect Substantially Impair Use, Value, or Safety?

Under Florida law, the defect has to substantially impair the vehicle's use, value, or safety. These defects came up in Easy Lemon's own Florida cases:

  • ⚠️2020 Kia Niro: Recurring Refill Inverter Coolant dash warning
  • ⚠️2024 Rivian R1S: Airbag warning system randomly toggling on/off
  • ⚠️2023 Jeep Wagoneer: Catastrophic engine failure
  • ⚠️2024 GMC Hummer EV: Recurring rear hatch / power liftgate failure to open and latch
2

Have You Met the Repair Attempt Threshold?

In Florida the test is 3 repair attempts for the same defect, plus a final repair attempt after written notice, or 30 cumulative calendar days (60 days for recreational vehicles) out of service, as long as the claim is brought within the deadline in step 3. Count the visits on your repair orders to see where you stand.

3

Did It Happen Within the Rights Period?

In Florida the deadline is 60 days after the end of the 24-month Lemon Law rights period. We check it against the delivery date on your contract and the dates on your repair orders.

If you are not sure about your dates, call us. The consultation is free. 📞 (855) 435-3666

If you are past the deadline, call us anyway. We may still be able to help.

Broward County

Court and Venue in Coral Springs

Coral Springs is in Broward County. Broward County's general civil trial court is the Circuit Court of the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit. Florida also has a lower court for smaller civil claims, so the amount in dispute can change where a case is filed. Which court hears a particular case still depends on its facts, the warranty issues involved and the law it is brought under.

The Florida lemon law is Fla. Stat. §681.10 to §681.118. Written notice to the manufacturer goes by registered or express mail, not certified mail (Fla. Stat. §681.104(1)(a)), and the manufacturer then gets a final repair attempt. The claim must first go through the Florida New Motor Vehicle Arbitration Board.

The repair test in the statute is 3 repair attempts for the same defect, plus a final repair attempt after written notice, or 30 cumulative calendar days (60 days for recreational vehicles) with the vehicle out of service. The statutory remedy is a replacement vehicle or a refund of the purchase price (minus a reasonable offset for use). Under the statute, a consumer who prevails can recover attorney fees from the manufacturer.

What the Statute Says

Florida Lemon Law - Motor Vehicle Warranty Enforcement Act: The Rules That Decide a Coral Springs Claim

Florida law sets a repair test, an arbitration rule and a deadline, and Court and Venue above already explains those three. Here are a few of its other rules.

Notable provisions of Florida Lemon Law - Motor Vehicle Warranty Enforcement Act

Florida uses a state-run arbitration board (not manufacturer-run). After 15 cumulative days out of service the consumer must notify the manufacturer in writing; the 30-day figure is what raises the presumption of a reasonable number of repair attempts. Covers vehicles within the Lemon Law rights period (24 months from delivery).

Your Rights Under FL Law

What The Manufacturer Owes You

What the manufacturer owes under Florida's statute is replacement vehicle or a refund of the purchase price (minus a reasonable offset for use). Most qualifying cases from Coral Springs under FL law end in one of the three results below.

$

Refund

The manufacturer takes the car back and pays you the purchase price, taxes, registration fees and finance charges, and it can subtract a reasonable use offset.

Replacement Vehicle

You get a comparable new car in place of the one with the defect, with the manufacturer covering the cost.

$

Cash Settlement

You keep driving the car and the manufacturer pays you for the lost value. This is a negotiated result, since the statute does not list it.

Have Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

The answers below are based on Florida law and on the paperwork Coral Springs drivers usually send us.

PROCESS & TIMELINE
Most of the Florida cases we handle settle at the written-demand stage, without a lawsuit. How long that takes depends on your repair history and on the manufacturer. The Florida filing deadline is within 60 days after the end of the 24-month Lemon Law rights period.
Usually not. Most lemon law cases we handle for Coral Springs drivers settle with the manufacturer before a lawsuit is filed. On arbitration, the Florida rule is: must first go through the Florida New Motor Vehicle Arbitration Board. We prepare that filing for you.
REMEDIES
Fla. Stat. §681.10 to §681.118 provides for replacement vehicle or a refund of the purchase price (minus a reasonable offset for use). Which one you get depends on your repair history and on what the manufacturer offers.
ELIGIBILITY
We handle any warranty defect that substantially impairs the car's use, value or safety and that the dealer could not fix. The defects we see most often are engine stalling and misfires, transmission shudder or failure, electrical faults, brake and steering problems, and driver-assist systems that brake or drift on their own. Florida uses a state-run arbitration board (not manufacturer-run).
ATTORNEY & TRUST
No. Our offices are in Manhasset NY, Newark NJ, Miami FL and Dallas TX. We handle Florida cases by phone, email and e-signature. You upload your repair orders, your contract and your warranty booklet. We send the demand letter and handle the settlement paperwork. Nothing in Fla. Stat. §681.10 to §681.118 requires you to appear anywhere to open a claim. On arbitration, the Florida rule is: must first go through the Florida New Motor Vehicle Arbitration Board.
Nothing upfront, and no attorney's fee unless we recover for you. In Florida, the manufacturer pays the consumer's attorney's fees when the consumer wins. In most successful Florida claims, the manufacturer pays our fee. Repair orders are free from the dealer. We pay the filing costs while the case is open. To start, send us the repair orders for a free case review.
