2026 GMC Yukon Lemon Law Case Study: Pennsylvania
A 2026 GMC Yukon With Exhaust, Paint, Emblem, and Brake Concerns
Our client purchased a 2026 GMC Yukon in Pennsylvania (purchase date March 2, 2026). Documented service history describes a heat shield rattle from the exhaust, paint chips on the right-side roof rail and right-front bumper fascia, moisture inside the front GMC emblem causing it to separate, an abnormal grunt felt in the brake pedal and heard during medium-to-heavy braking, and heavy metallic contamination in the front brake pads. Intake indicated the vehicle was in the repair shop for more than 30 days at some point. Current mileage on the odometer: 1,000. The client contacted Easy Lemon for legal assistance under the lemon law.
“The customer brought the vehicle in with multiple concerns: a heat shield rattle from the exhaust, paint chips on the right-side roof rail and right-front bumper fascia, a scratched left-side sill plate, a gouged left-front door trim panel, discoloration on the right interior door panel trim, and paint fisheye imperfections noted on the hood and both fenders.” Case notes continue: “The customer returned with multiple concerns: dirt and imperfections remaining in the paint on the rear door and both rear quarter panels, the exhaust still not aligned correctly and still producing a heat-shield-rattle noise (verified by the service manager), moisture inside the front GMC emblem causing it to separate, an abnormal grunt felt in the brake pedal and heard during medium-to-heavy braking, and a grunt noise from the rear end when backing up slowly.” Later: “Inspection of the brakes found heavy metallic contamination in the front brake pads; the front Brembo brake pads were replaced and the vehicle was road-tested.”
What Went Wrong

- Paint / trim concerns: paint chips on the right-side roof rail and right-front bumper fascia, plus additional paint and trim concerns documented across visits.
- Front GMC emblem moisture: moisture inside the front GMC emblem causing it to separate; the front GMC emblem, found to be improperly sealed, was replaced.

What the Documented Service Visits Showed

The exhaust was adjusted to address the rattle. The left-front door sill plate and left-front door panel were replaced, and the right-side interior door panel was replaced. May 18–June 19, 2026 — Recurring Exhaust Noise, Emblem Moisture, Brake Grunt
