Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I file a lemon law claim for a Ford F-150?
Yes. Ford vehicles, including the F-150, are covered by state lemon laws and the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act when they qualify. If your F-150 has a recurring defect, such as a no-start condition, failed batteries, continued discharging after battery replacement, DTC P0AA6:00, or related power-system failures, that authorized service cannot permanently repair after a reasonable number of attempts, or it has been out of service for an extended period, it may qualify as a lemon. The manufacturer is responsible for all attorney fees if you prevail, so you pay nothing out of pocket†.
What is Colorado’s lemon law?
The Colorado Lemon Law (C.R.S. § 42-10-101 et seq.) protects consumers who purchase or lease new motor vehicles with substantial defects. For vehicles sold or leased on or after August 7, 2024, a vehicle may qualify if the same nonconformity has been subject to repair 3 or more times, or 2 or more times for a safety-based nonconformity, or if the vehicle has been out of service for 24 or more cumulative business days, within the first 24,000 miles or two years, whichever comes first (C.R.S. § 42-10-103(2)(a)). Vehicles sold or leased before that date fall under the prior thresholds of 4 repair attempts or 30 cumulative business days within one year. Colorado consumers may also pursue claims under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act for vehicles still under the manufacturer’s written warranty.
What does a Vehicle Buyback mean in a lemon law case?
A Vehicle Buyback is the strongest outcome in a lemon law case. The manufacturer repurchases the defective vehicle and typically refunds the purchase or lease price (including taxes, registration, and financing costs) minus a reasonable use allowance based on mileage before the first repair. The manufacturer takes the vehicle back, and the consumer is made whole.
How does Easy Lemon handle Ford lemon law claims?
Easy Lemon files a formal demand against Ford citing the applicable state lemon law and the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. We handle the documentation, communication with the manufacturer, negotiation, and arbitration or litigation when necessary. You pay nothing out of pocket†; the manufacturer is required to pay all reasonable attorney fees if you prevail.
