What the Documented Service Visits Showed

1

March 27–28, 2025 — Water Leak at Rearview Mirror / Sunroof Drains

The customer reported that water was leaking from the rearview mirror area and dripping onto the main console. After a water test, water was entering the cabin due to the rear sunroof drains not draining properly. The rear sunroof glass was removed; the drains were found to be kinked and partially blocked with debris. The headliner was removed, both rear sunroof drain hoses were replaced, and the seal on the rear glass was replaced because it had formed a gap that allowed debris into the sunroof tray.

2

March 31–April 7, 2025 — Water From A/C at Windshield / Mirror Area

The customer stated that water from the A/C was coming in at the same spot on the windshield, running from the mirror area to the overhead console. The leak was noticed more while backing up. A seal repair was previously performed. The vehicle was water-tested and road-tested on hills and declines. The headliner was removed, and the sunroof area was inspected for proper runoff.

3

April 23–May 23, 2025 — Recurring Mirror-Area Leak & Brake Vibration

The customer stated that water is now leaking from the center area near the rearview mirror. Upon inspection, a kink was found in the rear section of the drain hose, which was causing water to sit in the tracks. The customer additionally reported vibration when braking at high speeds, and the concern was verified during a road test.

4

June 2–29, 2025 — Overhead Console Leak / Windshield Replacement

The customer reported water leaking through the overhead console. Upon inspection, the windshield was removed and replaced with a new Volvo windshield. After installation, the camera was calibrated and the vehicle was road tested to ensure the camera was functioning properly.

5

November 11–17, 2025 — Roof Leak Near Rearview Mirror

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I file a lemon law claim for a Volvo XC90?
Yes. Volvo vehicles, including the XC90, are covered by state lemon laws and the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act when they qualify. If your XC90 has a substantial defect — such as water leaking from the rearview mirror area, rear sunroof drains not draining properly, kinked and partially blocked drain hoses, vibration when braking at high speeds, or water leaking through the overhead console — that authorized service cannot permanently repair after a reasonable number of attempts, or it has been out of service for an extended period, it may qualify as a lemon. The manufacturer is responsible for all attorney fees if you prevail, so you pay nothing out of pocket.
What is the New Jersey Lemon Law?
New Jersey’s Motor Vehicle Warranty Act (the New Jersey Lemon Law, codified at N.J.S.A. § 56:12-29 through § 56:12-49) protects consumers who buy or lease new motor vehicles that have substantial defects covered by warranty. A vehicle may qualify if the same nonconformity has been subject to repair three or more times by the manufacturer or its authorized dealers, or if the vehicle has been out of service by reason of repair for a cumulative total of 20 or more calendar days, within the first 24 months from the date of original delivery or 24,000 miles, whichever comes first. Consumers may also pursue claims under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act for vehicles still under the manufacturer’s written warranty.
What does a Cash and Keep settlement mean in a lemon law case?
A Cash and Keep settlement means the manufacturer pays a lump-sum cash settlement to the owner, who keeps the vehicle. It is a common outcome when the defects are significant enough to warrant compensation but the owner wishes to retain the vehicle. The federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act fee-shifting provision typically allows the client to keep the full settlement amount while the manufacturer pays attorney fees separately.
How does Easy Lemon handle Volvo lemon law claims?
Easy Lemon files a formal demand against Volvo Cars USA citing the applicable state lemon law and the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. We handle the documentation, communication with the manufacturer, negotiation, and arbitration or litigation when necessary. You pay nothing out of pocket; the manufacturer is required to pay all reasonable attorney fees if you prevail.

Your Volvo May Have a Lemon Law Claim Too

If your Volvo keeps going back to the shop for the same problems, you may qualify under your state’s lemon law — the manufacturer pays our fees, not you. We handle Volvo cases like this one regularly.
