Four Documented Repair Visits Could Not Permanently Resolve the Defects

1

December 7, 2023 (1 Day) — Service Uconnect Box Message and Recall

Customer reported a recall notice and a message on the radio reading “service Uconnect box.” Technicians performed the recall service on the particulate matter sensor and completed a TBM flash to address the radio concern.

2

June 25 – July 8, 2024 (14 Days) — Black Infotainment Screen, CarPlay, and TPMS

Customer reported an intermittent humming noise when reversing, black infotainment screen that switched modes erratically, CarPlay not connecting, and partial audio loss. Additional concerns included the easy-exit seat intermittently failing, driver power seat settings being lost, TPMS warning light activation, nonresponsive radio power button, wireless charger not working, and a “service Uconnect box” message. Technicians were unable to duplicate several complaints but performed a DSM update, reprogrammed a tire sensor, reset the TBM module, and degreased an oil leak traced to a prior oil change. A recall was also performed.

3

March 5 – 15, 2025 (11 Days) — TPMS Failure, Drivability, and Black Screen

Customer reported the TPMS system stopped reading pressures, the vehicle slammed into second gear at low speeds, and it shuddered while going uphill. Additional complaints included the radio resetting to a black screen, the easy-exit feature not functioning, electrical glitches, and CarPlay connectivity cutting in and out. Technicians found three tire sensors not reading and recommended replacement, which was declined at that time. The remaining issues could not be duplicated.

4

~May 29, 2025 (~1 Day) — Continued Infotainment Concerns

No repair order was provided but according to the client’s written timeline of issues, the vehicle returned for repairs for continued infotainment and other concerns. The dealer performed a USB radio update and noted that the easy-exit seat feature and audio/CarPlay anomalies were functioning normally after the update.

Documented repair history covers 4 repair visits totaling ~27 days in repair for recurring electrical and infotainment issues, including black screens, audio malfunctions, CarPlay connectivity issues, and repeated failures of the tire pressure monitoring system. With those defects documented, the client sought help under the lemon law.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I file a lemon law claim for a Ram 2500?
Yes. Ram vehicles, including the 2500, are covered by state lemon laws and the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act when they qualify. If your Ram 2500 has a substantial defect — such as recurring electrical and infotainment issues including black screens, audio malfunctions, CarPlay connectivity issues, or repeated failures of the tire pressure monitoring system — that authorized service cannot permanently repair after a reasonable number of attempts, or it has been out of service for an extended period, it may qualify as a lemon. The manufacturer is responsible for all attorney fees if you prevail, so you pay nothing out of pocket†.
What is Arizona’s lemon law?
Arizona’s Motor Vehicle Warranties Act (Arizona Revised Statutes §§ 44-1261 through 44-1267) protects new-vehicle owners and lessees in Arizona. A vehicle qualifies as a lemon if the manufacturer or its authorized dealer cannot conform the vehicle to its express warranty after a reasonable number of attempts, generally four or more repair attempts for the same nonconformity, or a cumulative total of thirty or more calendar days out of service for one or more nonconformities, all within the shorter of the express warranty term, two years from delivery, or 24,000 miles. Successful claims may result in a refund of the purchase price (less a statutory mileage offset), a comparable replacement vehicle, or a cash settlement, and the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act provides an additional remedy regardless of the state-law threshold.
What does a Cash and Keep settlement mean in a lemon law case?
A Cash and Keep settlement means the manufacturer pays a lump-sum cash settlement to the owner, who keeps the vehicle. It is commonly used when the owner prefers to retain the vehicle after documented repair attempts for a substantial defect, rather than pursuing a full buyback or replacement. The cash amount is negotiated based on the facts of the case.
How does Easy Lemon handle Ram lemon law claims?
Easy Lemon files a formal demand against Ram (Stellantis) citing the applicable state lemon law and the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. We handle the documentation, communication with the manufacturer, negotiation, and arbitration or litigation when necessary. Our clients pay nothing out of pocket; the manufacturer is required to pay all reasonable attorney fees if you prevail†.
