Stat. §51:1941 to §51:1948 covers a nonconformity: a defect that substantially impairs the use, market value or safety of the vehicle and that survives 4 repair attempts for the same defect, or keeps the car out of service for 45 cumulative calendar days. It applies to new motor vehicles purchased or leased in Louisiana for personal, family, or household purposes. One Louisiana-specific point: Louisiana allows 45 calendar days out of service, not the 30 common elsewhere.
