Do You Qualify?
It takes about a minute. Four questions, and you find out if the lemon law may apply.
You Likely Qualify!
Your answers line up with the basic lemon law test. The next step is for an attorney to confirm that from your repair orders. Because we work on a contingency basis, there are no attorney’s fees unless we recover for you.
You May Not Qualify Under Standard Lemon Law
Your answers fall outside the usual lemon law test. That does not rule out other consumer protection laws. Contact us anyway.

How your South Carolina claim gets built
Our lemon law work is directed by Steven P. Nassi, Esq., Managing Partner, Easy Lemon by RockPoint Law P.C. A South Carolina claim gets built on two things: the South Carolina lemon law statute, and the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, which applies in all fifty states. Send the repair orders and the purchase or lease paperwork, and we can tell you which of the two fits your vehicle.

Myrtle Beach Lemon Law Basics
A Myrtle Beach car is judged against South Carolina's statute, S.C. Code §56-28-10 to §56-28-100, and that law covers new motor vehicles purchased or leased in South Carolina for personal, family, or household use. So the first question is coverage, and the second is whether your repair orders reach one of the repair limits in the box above. If they do, and the defect is still there and the deadline has not run out, you may have a claim. The statute text, the filing deadlines and how used cars are treated are all on our South Carolina Lemon Law Attorneys page.
How a Myrtle Beach Lemon Law Claim Works
This is what happens after you call us from Myrtle Beach.
Document Your Repairs
Keep every repair order from your Myrtle Beach dealership, even the short ones. SC lemon law needs written proof of each repair attempt, and those papers are the proof.
Free Case Evaluation
We read your repair history against the South Carolina statute and tell you whether the car qualifies. The review costs nothing, and there are no attorney's fees unless we recover for you.
We File the Claim
We write and send the paperwork, including any written notice to the manufacturer that SC law requires. We deal with the manufacturer for you.
You Get Compensated
The case ends with a refund, a replacement vehicle or a cash settlement. There are no attorney's fees unless we recover for you.
Is Your Myrtle Beach Car a Lemon? South Carolina's 3-Step Test
Does the Defect Substantially Impair Use, Value, or Safety?
Under South Carolina law, the defect has to substantially impair the vehicle's use, value, or safety.
Have You Met the Repair Attempt Threshold?
In South Carolina the test is 3 repair attempts for the same defect, or 30 cumulative calendar days out of service, as long as the claim is brought within the deadline in step 3. Count the visits on your repair orders to see where you stand.
Did It Happen Within the Rights Period?
In South Carolina the deadline is 12 months or 12,000 miles from original delivery (whichever is earlier). We check it against the delivery date on your contract and the dates on your repair orders.
If you are not sure about your dates, call us. The consultation is free. 📞 (855) 435-3666
If you are past the deadline, call us anyway. We may still be able to help.
Court and Venue in Myrtle Beach
Myrtle Beach is in Horry County. Horry County's general civil trial court is the Court of Common Pleas, the civil side of the circuit court in the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit. South Carolina also has a lower court for smaller civil claims, so the amount in dispute can change where a case is filed. Which court hears a particular case still depends on its facts, the warranty issues involved and the law it is brought under.
The South Carolina lemon law is S.C. Code §56-28-10 to §56-28-100. If the manufacturer's arbitration program is state-certified, the consumer must use it.
The repair test in the statute is 3 repair attempts for the same defect, or 30 cumulative calendar days with the vehicle out of service. The statutory remedy is a replacement vehicle or full refund (minus reasonable use offset). A consumer who prevails may recover attorney fees.
Open recalls on your vehicle can be checked against NHTSA records at easylemon.com/recalls. A recall alone is not a lemon law claim.

South Carolina Lemon Law - Defective Motor Vehicle Act: The Rules That Decide a Myrtle Beach Claim
Looking for the repair test, the deadline or the arbitration rule? Those are under Court and Venue above. South Carolina law has a few more rules, and they are listed here.
Notable provisions of South Carolina Lemon Law - Defective Motor Vehicle Act
South Carolina requires only 3 repair attempts. Covers 12 months/12,000 miles from delivery. Written notice to manufacturer required by certified mail.

What The Manufacturer Owes You
Under the statute, the remedies open to South Carolina drivers are replacement vehicle or full refund (minus reasonable use offset). If your Myrtle Beach car qualifies under SC law, the case usually ends in one of the three ways below.
Refund
You return the car and the manufacturer pays back the price, taxes, registration fees and finance charges, minus a reasonable use offset.
Replacement Vehicle
The manufacturer replaces the car with a comparable new one at its own cost.
Cash Settlement
You keep the car and receive a payment for its lost value. That payment is negotiated. The statute does not list it.
