Notable provisions of South Dakota Lemon Law - Motor Vehicle Warranties

South Dakota’s lemon law rights period is 1 year or 12,000 miles from delivery, while the repair-attempt presumption reaches 24 months or 24,000 miles. Notice of the nonconforming condition must be given by certified mail, and the manufacturer gets a final opportunity to cure. SDCL ch. 32-6D provides no reduced-attempt route for safety-related defects.
